We’re currently writing a book--about emotional resilience--with colleague Andrea Durrant, who is the principal of Mobilise.
We are investigating how Kiwis cope with hard times, and will be pleased to share our findings with you sometime next year. You can participate in our book now, however, if you have a tough-times tale to tell. We are looking for New Zealanders, both famous and not-well-known, who have triumphed over adversity.
We seek a wide range of stories for the book, including such experiences as:
- financial loss, say, from bankruptcy or other business disaster
- life-threatening disease, loss of limb or ongoing disability
-
personal / emotional loss, such as from death or divorce; or loss of one’s freedom, homeland, or community
-
challenging achievements of all sorts, and those requiring long-haul perseverance, which could include difficult long-term caregiving.
We intend for the book to offer inspiration, hope, and also practical understanding on how to not only survive hard times, but also how to generate a sense of renewal as a result.
If you, or others you know of, have shown the ability to bounce back through a tough time, we invite you to get in touch. Our publisher’s first deadline is fast approaching, so please don’t delay!
Whether you would like us to participate in your writing project, or you want to participate in ours, we look forward to hearing from you.
